A Report from our local news

— Authorities say a homeless man has been shot to death on a road in a Columbia suburb.
Police told local media outlets that people living near the shooting in Forest Acres heard an argument Monday night, then a couple of gunshots.
The Richland County Coroner's Office says 49-year-old Kenneth Hinckley was found dead on state Highway 12. Authorities say he had no family in Columbia and distant relatives were found in West Virginia.
Forest Acres Police Chief Gene Sealy says investigators are still trying to figure out why someone would shoot Hinckley and have no suspects.
Just a note ....Not only is it very hard to live on the street, It is extremely dangerous. Please remember these folks in your prayers.

I also responded to many very bad calls this week here in Sumter with the fire department. Homes lost to fire and several fatalities and severe injuries.

This has been a very active Christmas season for us. I just hope that in some small way we were able to restore hope to some of these people over the holidays.

I will write some details of these stories in the next few weeks for yall.....

I thank you all for the support and prayers.......We wish you and your family a Blessed New Year

A strong man cried today....1 week before Christmas

David is a hard working honest mechanic here in town. He is a single parent to 3 school aged children. David works a full time job and then takes on other projects at home after work just to make ends meet. We have come to know David and his kids over the past year.   This family has so little material things but they are always happy and smiling even in the hardest of times. They just keep going !!!

This week Susan went to his work and gave him a Christmas card with $200.00 in gift cards for walmart. When Susan gave him the card, she said to him....We love you and Jesus loves you, this will help you guys for Christmas....His reply was ....  (.to tear up, smile and say) Thank you, I don't know how much this is, but even a 5 dollar bill will help.......

A strong man cried today.....and a little bit of hope was restored.

Job 6:8

"Oh, that I might have my request, that God would grant what I hope for,

Our hope for some Christmas joy for Lieam and Genna

This week we were blessed to team up with our county EMS and county Sheriffs Dept. to provide Christmas for Liem(3) and Genna (6). These kids lost their father to Cancer just three weeks ago. Patrick (the father) was an EMS employee and a Sheriffs SWAT medic when he passed away. Our intent is to try to restore some joy and hope for this family who is devastated by the loss of their father just before Christmas.  Please consider them in your prayers this Christmas.

Think for a moment how they might feel when they wake up Christmas morning and find this in the back yard.  #Restorethehope

Its Christmas Time...A time of joy and hope for most.......

This is the Christmas season, a time of hope and joy for most families. There are so many that will not have that 'good feeling' Christmas. There is so much hopelessness and sadness and fear of what is to come. We are blessed to be able to share some of the love of Jesus with a few famlies this year.
We will be sure to post some stories about our Christmas programs as they unfold over the next week or so. Thank you for your support and please pray that God directs us as we go all over town sharing the love of Jesus.

A long week in Colombia South America

Wayne and Phyllys went Colombia South America to start a Bible institute in August 2007. Reluctant at first, the couple has no doubts it was the Lord who sent them to this country.
The opportunities for ministry in Colombia are overwhelming. The Wozniaks have preached and taught in churches, district and national conventions, youth camps, and retreats. In August 2009, Berea Bible School was opened. Today there are 35 students training to be pastors and church planters.
Wayne and Phyllys also share the task of carrying sound biblical doctrine and ministerial training to those already active in ministry. They travel throughout the country teaching training seminars for pastors and leaders. The honor of equipping God’s people for ministry is the Wozniaks’ greatest joy.

We were blessed to spend a week in Colombia with Wayne providing much needed assistance to the school and the community in 3 different cities.  We will have a few stories about our trip in a bit. I will say thank you God for hot running water.

Snow and ice storm of 2014

3 to 4 inches of ice and snow this
power out all over the state for two weeks
This week our state had 4 days of ice and snow. Our states power grid was extremely damaged by ice and falling trees. Thousands and Thousands without power. We were involved in a massive rescue effort across two counties through our work. Many were transported to shelters and warming stations in both counties. At one point we took into our home a older church member who is in diminished health. Our intent was to let her stay with us until her heat came back on. Praise God her power came on that night. She and her dog were able to get back home that very same day. I cant count how many people were taken to shelters and warming stations over those days. in one case a community carer home lost power and all of the residents had to be relocated to other facilities that had power. Despite many many organizations efforts, one homeless man was found dead in an abandoned house in downtown Sumter. The coroner says he died from freezing. As I write this today I am struck with how that man felt...Alone in the dark, in an abandoned house with no windows, holes in the roof, wind blowing,  ice and snow falling, no coat even......What were his thoughts? How did he get to this place in life, how could he be overlooked, missed ? I wanted to write this story to bring to light just how easy it is to not see what you are looking at sometimes. I would encourage everyone to prayerfully see your surroundings and to be ever vigilant to those who might be in need, they may even be seated in the pew right next to you.

The Watch that came back

Some time ago, my sweet wife bought me a very nice Superman watch as a gift. It was my very favorite watch indeed. About 7 months ago Susan and I went to a small Baptist church out in the country in Lee County. We were attending a gospel singing (The Praismen) there was a man seated behind us who looked to be 35 years old or so.  During the service he gave a testimony…as he spoke we could tell he was speaking as a young boy. It seems that he had a development issue and he was mentally much younger than his actual age. As he spoke about his dad dying when he was very young and other events in his life, the story got sadder and sadder….and then he said…..”But Jesus never left me”…..He understood….That Jesus was with him.

After the singing was over, we stood and visited with the folks of the church. This man commented on how much he loved Superman and how great my watch was. Susan and I felt the “nudge”…So I took my watch off and gave it to him.  He just smiled real big and took it placed it on his wrist and said thank you and away he went with his new watch.

He just received his blessing with ease!!!!  He just received his blessing.  Isn’t that how we should be? When we are sent blessings form God, shouldn’t we just receive it with ease and thanks?

So, fast forward to this Christmas…..What do you think I found under our Christmas tree????  That’s right, another Superman watch!!!   Now He and I both have a cool watch.

Good blesses through us and He blesses to us. I am sure that you can not out give God!!!!!

When your blessing comes...Just recieve it with ease thanks!!  When you feel the nudge to give just bless and give with ease and thanks!!!!

Christmas eve caroling at a few of our local assisted living homes.

This year Susan had the thought that it would be nice to visit some assisted living facilities on this Christmas eve and do a little old fashioned caroling.  At supper time on Christmas eve a small group of us went down to the Sterling House and Covenant Place. We had a great time as Susan and Eileen sang songs of the season and went from table to table visiting. George and I gave away candy canes and visited as well.  As the sweet ladies and gentlemen sang along with us, there was true joy on their faces, but not as much joy as we received from them! What a blessing! The Help Out Guys plan to make this an annual event, because it was so special. Many of our friends had not, and were not going to have family visits, we were told. So, we added to our "family". How blessed we are to be able to give our time, love and attention. Let's all try to make it a plan to do more this coming year to spread God's love! We trust you had a blessed Christmas, and we wish you a Happy New Year!

Christmas cards across three states.

This week Susan and I went to Pigeon Forge Tenn. We prayed that God would show us how and who to minister to. Just before we left town we stopped by Walmart and got a stack of gift cards and folders. On the folders we wrote a Christmas message. As we traveled across the three states as we encountered people here and there that needed something. As God gave us the "nudge" and the correct words.....Out came the gift cards and a word directed to the situation.  We had a great time on this trip in so many ways.

God blessed people through our encounters everywhere we went.  We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Thank you all for your support and prayers.
I will have a Christmas Eve story on the 24th stay tuned !!

Consider this..

Heb 13: 1Let brotherly love continue. 2Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. 3Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

Christmas at the Community Care Home

This week we were blessed to give and attend a Christmas party with all of our friends at the local community care home. Everyone there had a great time. Lots of food, drink, song and fun!!!!

The message preached was about the gift!!!  The gift God gave us in His Son Jesus. The gift was given,  all we need to do is receive the gift.

During this Christmas event 15 persons received the gift of Jesus tonight!!!!

As I watched this party unfold, I was struck with the loneliness and sadness that was also in the room. While we had a very nice time tonight, there was still a touch of hopelessness among the folks in attendance. Even in the moment when some folks were saved from their sins and joy was experienced...others were still sad..... all of these emotions in one room...... I pray for the forgotten, I pray for the "Least of these".
as this Christmas season unfolds....I am left to wonder....Have we done enough ??  Is it enough?? While we go in the name of the Most High Jesus I pray that we have done enough...

Could you do more? Have you been called to do more?? Will you do more ???

Praise God for allowing us to work in this ministry! I also want to publicly thank my precious wife Susan who did much of the work to accomplish this event. Thank you Ted and Sue Brokopt and "Sister Eilene" for your valued
support and help as well.

I will leave you with this thought this Christmas......

Matthew 25:40..

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Do you have a giving tree at the office?

This week at our offices the folks put up a giving tree with these markers with kids names and gift ideas on them. I asked questions of our staff concerning the "Back stories" on these folks. The stories were so sad and heartbreaking. Many of these good folks are just one or two pay checks from disaster. All of the folks on this tree had fallen to sickness or an "on the job injury." Within a matter of months they find themselves in a hole they cant find their way out of. Here we are in this season of Christmas. We Christians will celebrate the birth of the Savior of the world, and right in the next office there is a co-worker who is in
such despair he cant even see or acknowledge the true meaning of the season.

We would like to ask that all of our supporters look around this season and ask yourself....What would Jesus do with this situation ???

Just consider this.......

Luke: 10 27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’[h] and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’[i]
28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”

More updates on ongoing ministry

This Small Church in rural Lee and Sumter Counties is feeding about 200 families a week. They have a very small congregation and minister to very many people across the area. All of their monetary resources are spent on the food for these hurting people. The Pastor here even goes into his pocket to meet the needs of others. The church is in need of some repairers and a little "Man power help" so....In we go!!!!

We are going to assemble a few folks and jump in to give these kind folks a hand. I am looking forward to reporting on this one....If you are looking far a ministry to support... This may be the one. We ask that you remember them in prayer as they go about living the "Great Commission" here in rural Lee and Sumter.

Last week while were shopping in Murrells Inlet S.C. we ran across this ministry in a Walmart. They are feeding needy Children in Horry and Georgetown Counties. After a short conversation Jason and I were very blessed to go shopping for them in a big way.  These guys are doing a great work here and we were blessed to be able to help them.

Thank you God for allowing us to be able to help them feed these kids.
God is working all of the time.

UPDATE ON A FEW ONGOING PROJECTS

A few weeks ago we learned that the orphanage our missionaries visited a few months ago, had no real beds. They had some type of make shift mattresses for the children to sleep on. God blessed this ministry to be able to buy beds for all of the children there.  Help Out Guys Rescue Ministries & The Bethesda Church of God Missionary team sent the money to the orphanage. Now all of the kids are sleeping on real beds.  Thank you for your support and prayers. God has allowed us to be a blessing all the way across the world.

This Sunday the Help Out Guys were Blessed to be able to Donate Some finances to The Law Enforcement United Fund to assist families of Police Officers Killed in the line of duty. We would ask that you guys please add the Police, Fire EMS folks to your daily prayer list.

This week Help Out Guys Rescue Ministries, On Time Ministries, &; the Bethesda Church of God teamed up to help a man who is trapped in his house.  This man is wheelchair bound and has been for many years. His entire life takes place inside of his house. The home has become dilapidated and is falling dawn around him. He is trapped inside of his own life. It seems that the whole world is passing him by, right outside of his window.  This poor man needed some intervention in to every area of his life. God sent all of us to the rescue. The Church and other ministries are undertaking a very large re-construction effort for his home and a large restoration effort in his life. Things will get better for him soon. At least 60 people have signed up to help him. I have a feeling that we all will be in his life for a very long time. I will report as this ongoing project continues. Please pray for him and this situation. e whole world is passing him e. It seems that the whole world is passing him by right outside of his window.

Susan and Gloria continue to visit and minister in several nursing homes every week in Sumter, S.C. This is a ripe harvest field. So many folks are in these facilities who are forgotten and never visited. Please remember Susan and Gloria as they fatefully visit these facilities every week.

I need to close here for now but , I do have more for you guys. I will post the others later this afternoon.

The Bethesda Church of God mission trip to El Salvador

Kevin and Jose
Help Out Guys Rescue Ministries was able to send blessings to two 11 year old boys, Kevin and Jose. Several members of our Church spent a week in the western part of El Salvador.  We wanted to say thank you for all of your generous support that allow us to give in the manner we do. We thank God for you guys and pray for blessings. While the mission team was there 125 souls were won to the kingdom. 125!!!  What an outstanding trip.

This photo is of Kevin and Jose in their new clothes.  Praise God for those that are willing to answer the call and go……..

A sweet granddaughter story

Last weekend while my precious wife was visiting family in Louisville Kentucky, Susan was ask by one of our sweet granddaughters if she would baptize her at church Sunday. You all know what "Nanny" said....now; both granddaughters have been baptized by Nanny. What a precious honor for a grandparent to baptize a grandchild.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
